Aaron Behrens of electro-dance soul rock duo Ghostland Observatory performs at Ultra Music Festival in Miami, FL in 2010. The rock outfit from Austin closed out the festival and were forced to stop playing at 10PM due to the Miami sound curfew.

Ukraine native Eugene Hutz performs during the Superjam at the Bonnaroo Music and Arts festival in 2008. Hutz is the frontman for the gypsy-punk band Gogol Bordello. The Superjam comprised of Hutz, other members of Gogol Bordello, bassist Les Claypool, and Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammet covering Tom Waits songs.

Baltimore musician Dan Deacon performs at Backdoor Skatepark in Greenville, North Carolina on August 15, 2009. Deacon was a late addition to the lineup which also included Javelin, Lonnie Walker, and Future Islands. His elaborately wacky live show is highly regarded by many, including NPR Music who described him as a "seasoned conductor of coordinated mayhem."

future islands, EAR PWR, nuclear power pants, and fat camp stopped by local 506 in chapel hill friday night. they played to a club so crowded, a fire marshal almost ruined the night. unfortunately i arrived too late to shoot fat camp, but i took photos of the other three acts.
first were nuclear power pants. they wear dinosaur heads and have sexy librarian ‘twins.’ they used to have two guys wearing a ‘two-headed guy’ costume thing, but no more:(

next up was EAR PWR from asheville. they are awesome. i don’t know what else to say about them. their drummer performs while standing, which is always fun. here, follow them on twitter.
